ImageGreetings! Welcome to Tezzaworld website, unfortunately you are a few years late to the show as nearly everyone has been and gone, there is still lots of useful archived material to read through, not many active users unfortunately, but that’s the way it goes, hopefully you are not too disappointed...

Newbie here from Aruba with a '99 RS200 Tezza.

Postby choopz » Thu Nov 05, 2009 1:39 am

Hi all,

My name is Ricky and I am from Aruba. I recently bought my '99 tezza RS200 6M/T and I love it.
This car came with adjustable coilover's from Japan. The brand is Gab Prosso and the model is GKRS1145. It's nice to have them because the car looks better when it is lowered.
But I do have a problem because the back shocks are broken and I would like to replace them. The problem is that I can't understand japanese and the site is written in japanese. I saw that the complete set cost about 1580 USD  wich I don't have at the moment. Is it possible to use another brand shocks like for example KYB with these adjustable springs?
If not can anyone recommend me a set of coilovers for my car, I am not looking for nothing that costs a arm and leg please.

thanks,
Ricky.

Unless you can find a local suspension specialist who can rebuild you GABs then buying a new set is going to be your best bet.
You can get a set of BC Racing for £579 http://www.bc-racing.co.uk/vehicle-chec ... ID=28#info

How do you mean broken? Are they leaking oil, or is it something else

Hi guy's

Thanks for the answers, I will be posting pic's shortly and by broken I mean that the oil came out of it.
If I get some for IS300 will they fit my tezza?

thanks.

My HKS coilovers were leaking and I just replaced the seals and filled them up with motorbike Fork oil, last april, not a problem since.

A guide I kinda followed http://www.bajataco.com/sawrebuild2.html

If you open them you'll see the seals that are woren

Hey thanks moomoo but I can't seem to find a rebuild kit like you got for yours with the website being in japanese and all.

I just matched the seals in a place that sells seals for industrial machinery. If theres a bearing specialist or someplace like that near you, you could bring in the seals and they'll match them for ya. Thats all you really need and a pint of oil for each coilover 8)

These guys repair coilovers and are GAB sole agents. They might send the stuff to ya http://www.rsone.com.my/service.html

Hey moomoo thanks for the link I will try them out.
I have a question I got a deal on a set of Tokico 1.5" lowering coilover set for 400 USD.
My question is if they will fit under my tezza they are for IS300.

thanks.

Yep they will fit. Only issues could be the may not lower the car as much or be the correct spring rate especially in the front as they'll be designed for the heavier 6cyl engine but unless your planing on taking it to the track you probably wont notice it.

Not 100% sure. At a guess I'd say 60-70mm. It's just the right height I think. Doesn't scrape if you drive it right. Any lower would be painfully annoying.
