Same here, and it runs absolutely perfectly in every other aspect. I thought it might be the throttle position sensor, but that's part of the whole throttle body.
Did you swap the throttle body from a known working car?

Yeah, I got it off site. Like i said it worked well its only since monday its back dropping revs. The only thing i did different was i got texaco petrol.

In that it says a bad sensor can lead to bad fuel consumption, I'm getting awful figures the last few weeks,
i was putting it down to the price of petrol going up :? coolant

I had the same symptoms a while back.Tried everything, sparkplugs, coilpacks, maf sensor, sensor inside the air intake and nothing worked. After changing them it might work fine and I'd think its fixed but after a while it would begin again.
Then I changed the lambda sensor, no problems since, and thats nearly a year ago now.
The reason why it doesnt drop in revs when cold is the automatic choke is on.
Do you ever let the petrol low enough to get the yellow light on.if so,it cud be dragging up dirt from the bottom of the tank.

I'm reminded of this:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2007_UK_pe ... tamination

I've heard of some stories of contamination between fuel tanks in petrol stations and there's rumours of issues with the quality of the ethanol going into the E5 as well.
It just seems a bit of a coincidence that many people are having idling problems all around the same time?

I never let it go below 1/4.

I'm going to service it and see how it gets on, Then i'l get it put on the computer.

I dont think so, Its driving perfect in every other way. and all that was replaced with the idle air control valve.

Hello guys, this sounds crazy taking up a thread 9 years later. But was this problem solved, im having same issues with mine. Tried cleaning throttle body and it performs fine for a few days and it starts the rough idle and dropping revs again. Have changed plugs, coils but still no joy. This problem is more pronounced especially a few minutes after starting the car in the morning, but idle gets back to normal after abt 30 minutes of idling and drives perfect the rest of the day. I changed the coolant temperature sensor too, but still no joy.
I'm in the White House
