Lightweight fly wheel or no?

Lightweight fly wheel or no?

Hi Guys,

wanted some feedback on going for a lightweight flywheel or sticking to the original? can anyone advise what the best option is? pro's and cons?

cars was losing fluid took it in to find out the gearbox needed to be taken out to check the pipes behind, which need replacing and while i was at it i thought i'd change the clutch and flywheel, so your wisdom is much welcomed.

If your changing it anyway then go for the light weight. Pros; quicker rev better throttle response Cons; may cause slightly lumpy idle nothing that most people would notice. A little less easy to pull away from a stop but that's something you'd get used to after some use. Probably won't notice much difference.

For short answer Yes get a light weight one

I have got nothing to compare to as when I got the car it already had the lightweight flywheel on but I love the way it is with it fitted and it's my daily and it doesn't make it hard to drive or anything.

The previous owner included a box of parts and in it was the original dual mass flywheel. When I had my engine oyut and the lightweight flywheel off I quickly weighed both and although I've forgotten the exact numbers, it was nearly half the weight (dual mass was 13.something kg and lightweight was 7.something kg I think)
